Ask the Psychic with Psychic Source!

You guys!

It’s time for our Ask the Psychic feature!

Did you know I’m a medium? It’s true!

You see, a few weeks ago I asked for questions about your special needs kitties and pups. I took a question, along with photos of the kitty involved and, acting as the medium, I gave them to Nancy at Psychic Source to answer. Without further ado, (or too many jokes [Nancy’s psychic. She’ll know if I even THINK of making a joke about her]) here’s what she had to say!

QUESTION from Emily of the Kitty Cat Chronicles blog:

I would like to know about my Sassy’s past. She is FIV+. My husband and I found her as a stray in our old apartment complex. She was already spayed, so she must have belonged to someone at some point, however we had no luck finding her home. She is very irritable and not friendly with other cats, so it makes me wonder what her back story is. Did she have a family who abandoned her or dumped her because she is FIV+? Does she dislike other cats because of fights she has been in (she has a few scar spots on her side where her fur doesn’t grow)?

Nancy’s Reply:
Hello New Mother of Sassy,
I enjoyed getting the photo of Sassy, and I can tell that she is happy around you now. She wanted your attention and that is why she layed on the paper. She wanted to find a good home, and you have given her that.

What I felt happened with Sassy in the past is two fold….What I mean by that is she had a family and a life with this family, but they fell on hard times and had to leave her where they once lived. They just felt that someone would take her in, so they did just leave her. I do believe it was done at that apartment complex too. They did not want to leave her, but they had to leave quickly, and could not have pets where they moved to. I feel this was done appx. 6 months before you found her. So, she had a pretty good life with this family, and there was a Mother, Father and a girl about 7 years old. The two fold is what happened to Sassy when she was out on the streets………

I picked up on 2 male cats who picked on her constantly, they would even look for her to fight with her. She did fight back, but did so out of fear more than anything else at first. She found it hard to be out on her own after feeling loved for a long time. She became a bit bitter, and that is why she doesn’t like or trust other cats, especially male cats. She learned to take care of #1….so, its hard to break that habit. She did not start out her life being like this. But, by first being abandoned, and then being picked on, she learned to be tough.

One thing I do see and that is, she does love being with you. She will trust you, but more than likely not other cats for a long time. This could change over time, but this whole experience was very hard on her. She is a good loving cat with humans she cares about. She needs extra love in order to trust. I feel you supply her with those loving needs. Bless you for taking her in.

Sincerely, Nancy x8068

  • What about if you wants to be the only Tiger i mean (Cat) 😉 in the area. This way she could have all the attention for her?

  • It was very interesting learning about Sassy. Wouldn’t it be nice if we all had Nancy’s gift and could talk to our pets. We always wonder how much Scylla remembers about her Cat Mom dying and how long it took the people to find the kittens (they were only 4 weeks old). Mommy thinks a lot of her behavior issues stem from kittenhood trauma even if Scylla doesn’t remember it. ~ATCAD

  • We have questions about our kittys too. They do some weird stuff sometimes. We really liked the amount of detail in Nancy’s answer.

  • That’s pretty interesting about Sassy, Crepes. Y’know…we’re psychic too…we know when we’re going to the vet before the PTU comes out of the closet! Amazing!

  • crepes….all thiz time we taked ewe for a small….oh well….

N sassy..we bee sorree ya had a ruff time of it at one point….but way happee ewe haz finded a for evers for ever home…..heerz ta nothin but happee ness N health N flounder ♥

  • This is so great! Thank you, Nancy! And Crepes for choosing Sassy’s question! I hate hearing that she was bullied by other cats, but I’m so glad to hear that she is happy with us. We sure are happy to have her.

  • How cool that Sassy got a reading! I wasn’t that familiar with these kitties until their rescue won my commenthon!

  • The direct stare with relaxed body language denotes trust. I think Sassy is happy she is loved and safe but irritability might be physically based like a dental issue. I’d suggest a vet visit. FIV kitties being immune compromised often have dental issues. Oh, Crepes you are out of the world 🙂

    • She has been to the vet and has checked out as clear and healthy. The vet said her teeth are fine. Thanks for the suggestion though! I think Sassy is just a little bit “sassy” 😉

  • Interesting read, Crepes!

I’d be curious to know her thoughts on what happened to Princess to cause her paralysis, how long she was injured before I found her and if she resents me from ‘taking’ her from her mother at all. She was still with mom when I found her… I’m assuming because she was disabled and couldn’t catch prey on her own, even though according to the vets she should have already been independent. And also if her mom is still alive/if she ever thinks about what happened to Princess.
