Bachelor/ettes of the Week: Kittens!

You guys!

I asked Tabby’s Place recently if they had a bachelor to feature and they sent me pictures of kittens! Lots and lots of kittens! They said they have hundreds of thousands of the little guys and made a good point that they are, in fact, special needs.

This gang is known as "Patrice's Babies."
This gang is known as “Patrice’s Babies.” They’ve been locked up for illegally stealing hearts.

How are kittens special needs? Let’s think:

If they’re under six weeks old they need:

  • heating pads
  • bottle/syringe feeding
  • lots of encouragement and pats on the back
  • baths
  • formula
  • blankets and towels
  • college fund
  • These guys are in serious need of bottle feeding. And love.

If they’re older than six weeks, they need:

  • to be watched constantly because they’re always in to something.

The fact that there are SO MANY of them right now also give them a special need – they’re everywhere. So, I wanted to use today to remind everyone that there are lots and lots of kittens out there that need help. Adopt one. Or two. Or three.

If you can’t adopt?

Foster. It’s temporary. Consider it a “try before you buy” kind of deal because if you foster and you love them, you can keep them!

Sponsor. Tabby’s Place is collecting donations because infancy is expensive and it’s because of places like Tabby’s Place that motherless kittens can still have a shot at a good life. They take in a lot of injured and ill kittens, too, and nursing them back to health requires funds.

PS. These guys have all been adopted in these photos – but there are still 399,972 kittens available.

Kittens don’t appear magically, as this film might have you believe. Please Spay and neuter your pets!
