Tuesday Haikusday: My Stump

Today, I feel the need to wax poetic about my stump. I was compelled to do so, and do so I must. Eh hem…

Pondering my haiku
Pondering my haiku

Where did your foot go

So many people ask me.

Fiji, I reply.

.

How high can I jump?

I can steal your dinner plate.

Is that high enough?

.

Handicapped I’m not.

My stump makes me strong because

I must overcome.

Do you have  a haiku to share with me today? Do you have a question about my stump? Leave me a note, and I’ll answer whatever you’d like to know.

Love,

Crepes.

PS. Do the voting thing. Please.

  • I never even notice Crepes…you have so well managed not allowing a missing limb to hold you back in life; way to live girl furriend! peeEss…we are voting…but we suspected once we viewed all the videos that your ONLY competition is Ricky…and that is the case. We will continue voting

  • Crepes your stump is part of the whole ladycat that you are, not something that is only what you are. I think society wants to always put a label on persons with disabilities, define them by what disease they have, why they are or look the way they do, why they are missing a limb, etc. rather than recognize that they are like everyone else, they just happen to be in a wheelchair, cannot see, have a limp. After all do we ask an African American why they are the color they are or someone Jewish if they eat latkes for breakfast?
I have no problem with people being curious, it is only natural but don’t let the difference or disability define how you see the person. Like you I was born with my difference/disability and have answered many curious questions as well as received many rude, ignorant ones I did not.
You have class Crepes in the way you portray the kitties with special needs in need of homes on your blog, we are able to see them as so much more, the individual self who just so happens to have something different about them.

    • Thank you, I do try to show everyone how wonderful they all are, even with their differences! That’s the whole point of my blog. A little levity, I thought, was the right way to show people that these differences aren’t THAT important and that we’re all one of a kind little creatures!

  • You are really good at writing haiku Crepes. It’s good that you have adapted so well to your stump. Love, Cali, Andy, Tater and Shelly (C.A.T.S)

  • Did you know that I have never, ever written a haiku in my life? Not in any one of my nine lives. I’VE BEEN MISSIN’ OUT ’cause I have gotta say, I LOVE the haiku you wrote. You are one very talented kitty.

    Purrs,
    Nissy

  • Crepes..I see you are a lady cat. I also see that you have dates lined up until Easter!! I would ask you to share but I am not too keen on stump-me-downs. Hehhehe..Little joke there. ALways a Bridescat, never a bride..thats me 🙂 Luv, Pixie xxooxx

    • Oh goodness, I have no dates. I mean, I had a date for Valentine’s day. And maybe one for St Patty’s day, but that’s all. Why, you think I should look into Easter, too? – Crepes.

      • That Redhear

That redhead you may have a St Patricks Date with is HOT!! He reminds me of Prince Harry. Know who else I think is hot? Ranier! If he was in the city and not the burbs I would invite him over! I say YES to dating different boy cats! You are beautiful and popular Crepes..don’t get tied down (unless you are into that..MOL!!) Luv, Pixie

        • BTW..how was your Valentines Date? That cat is a cutie!! Did you two groom each other…hehhehhe!!

          • Oh, I can’t tell you that. A lady must keep something to herself. Rainier is very handsome! Maybe you have room in your home for him, eh? eh???? – Crepes.

  • Mom is still doing the voting thing! She loves “The Inheritance”. Since all we usually think about is food, we wrote this:

    See fly on the wall
Just there, he sees and hears all
    Now nothing, we ate!

    Purrs, Serafina and Arya

Pee Ess: When Angel Miscio ate an enormous horsefly, Mom almost puked!

    • Moms puke sometimes. Not my momFOD, though. Well, yeah, i guess she might if we ate a horse fly. She’s Ukrainian though, so that’s probably like, in the cuisine somewhere, right? Have you guys met the tabbies o troute town? I think you’d like them. – Crepes.

      • Your momFOD is a vegetarian–so she would not be eating any horsefly pirohy! We have not met the tabbies o troute town but we have read some of their posts…we like them and so does our Mom…she admires their lifestyle and is doing her best to emulate it.

        Purrs, Serafina and Arya

        • Well she does eat some select fish – but horseflies are not fish, good point. You’re emulating their lifestyle? Like – you’re eating the fish off people’s blog posts and hating burdz?

          • Mom is not fond of burdz because she was pooped on by them a couple of times. She does recognize the importance of burdz in the eco-system, but on a personal level she is not a fan. Also, she takes more naps then we do and she eats a lot of fish…but we have yet to see her pilfering them from other people’s blog posts! Not that she wouldn’t try it, though…

  • This was wonderful and you are just perfect and happy the way you are. Fiji does sound like a good place to go anyway 🙂

  • Hi Crepes! Great haiku……it seems to me that you aren’t missing that foot and it would appear it doesn’t bother you one bit to be absent one of the four you should have!!

    It’s not the number
Of our limbs, toes, or our paws
    That makes us “complete”…..

    Hugs, Sammy

  • Cricket’s sweet chirping
    Infuses my soul with joy
    I catch my next snack

I have no stump questions – I know you didn’t need that foot anyhow! You are doing amazing things regardless. 😉

    • Love the haiku, Sparkle! You should totes put that on your FB page or somewhere. And thanks. 🙂 – Crepes.

  • Thanks for the Monday/Tuesday explanation Crepes. I kinda wrote you a song..okay..I kinda stole it but here goes:

    What you going do?
What you gonna do with that junk in your trunk?
My stump, my stump, my lovely lady stump
My stump, my stump, my lovely lady stump

IDK if you are a boy cat or a girl cat..not that it matters as its legal everywhere (as it should be!!) but I loovve you!! Goonight Crepes 🙂 Luv, Pixie

    • oh boy! that’s going to be in my head all day. You didn’t “steal” it. You “weird Al’d” it. My lovely lady stump… yeah! I like it. – Crepes. ps. I’m a lady cat…. you said so in your song…

    • A fine question! I don’t believe I have experienced that. In general, I show no signs of discomfort outwardly, although I do tend to overgroom my stump and chew all the fur off of it. Perhaps that itching I feel is phantom pain. Otherwise, there is no great discomfort. – Crepes.

  • Hi Crepes..Im very confused..today is Monday.well if you are in Australia it may be Tuesday..or maybe New Zealand. But here in Chicago it is Monday so its really Monday Haikusday. It doesnt really matter..what DOES matter is that you are one good looking cat and I love you!! Luv, Pixie

    • Hi Pixie! It SURE IS Monday here in Chicago! However, I publish a little early so I can post up on the blogosphere, which runs on east coast time. Therefore, it’s Tuesday there! And it will be here very soon. Wait a few minutes and read the haiku then. Love you too, Crepes.
