Friday Haikusday: December

Let’s call this “Friday Haikusday” because my editorial calendar had to change for reasons which I’d rather not disclose. Eh hem.

I like December, mostly because I can sit inside and watch it go by from a warm place. Let’s discuss in haiku:

December, Dicembre, грудень
December, Dicembre, грудень

December, the month.

It’s the twelfth, and yet it’s named

For the tenth. What gives?

.

Santa, Reindeer, snow.

Chevy Chase movies, egg nog.

Naps by a warm fire.

.

My FODs got lazy

And put up a real small tree.

I’ll still murder it.

.

December, грудень

Dicembre in Italian.

Month of many names.

.

What’s your favorite part about December? Tell me about it!

Love,

Crepes.

PS. Rocky is doing ok! His eye is healing well and he looks a little plumper. Also, his colon is REALLY cleared out. Yikes. We did our first subcutaneous fluid administration last night at home. I don’t see momFOD nervous much but boy! She was jittery! He’s got a follow up appointment on Monday morning. We’ll let you know more then!

  • (((purrs))) for sweet Rocky! I had a kitty that needed fluids once too and he plumped up right afterwards….then it subsided as the fluids were absorbed. You’re a wonderful cat mom…hang in there.

Our favorite thing in December and the twinkle lights in our little townhouse neighborhood. All of the trees are sparkling.

    xo

  • I enjoy getting lots of tasty treats like sips of egg nog, curling up in front of a warm fire in the fireplace, and batting at ornaments on the bottom of the tree. My MomFOD and grandFODS are lazy too and are getting a small tree like last year. HISSSSS!!! Do they think because it’s small and they place it upon a small table, it will keep me from the ornaments?! Are they that stupid not to remember I am capable of hopping up on to the armrest of the couch to reach the tree?! Well as Forrest Gump said ‘A stupid FOD is as a stupid FOD does trying to outwit the superior feline species.’ At least that’s what he SHOULD have said if he didn’t exactly…
P.S.– Paws up on the good news about Rocky! My momFOD used to have to give fluids to my fellow sister kitty who came before me many years ago, Duchess, and she says it wasn’t easy to do as she worried she was hurting Duchess. This wasn’t the case, but having nerves is normal for FODS and shows just how much they love us. Mewz FOD will become more confident each time and can feel good that Rocky knows it comes from love and a desire to see him well and comfortable.

  • A small tree? You’re getting gipped, Crepes! We like the big tree…so many new toys to play with!

We’re glad Rocky is doing better. The mom says she remembers the first time she had to give sub-qs to the cat who came before us. She was so nervous…it didn’t go well…and she sat and cried. But she says it does get better. Hang in there!

  • Glad he seems to be doing a little better!

Our favorite part of December is sending and getting all the cards in the mail 🙂

  • Prayers for Rocky and yourMom fod’s nerves. When you said that Rocky looked “plumper”, I remembered that one of my kitties had subcutaneous fluids administered. She looked like a water balloon. It really helped, though. Blessings to all!
