This is not my usual funny, I know. I didn’t do a specific blog about Peace yesterday as many other bloggers did, but I wanted to say a few words today, in haiku. I saw a photo on Twitter of a dog who’d been the victim of terrible violence in Romania, and it hurt my soul immensely. I hope that I never have to see a photo like that again, not because I would hide from it, but because something so tragic hopefully never happens again. A few words dedicated to that beautiful dog who I hope has found peace:
I’m a cat, you’re not.
And yet we still get along.
That’s my hope for all.

I look in your eyes
and see how sad you become
because the world hurts.

Love’s better, I think,
than hate or wounding others.
Be peaceful, for good.

I understand how you felt and I have had to shield myself from any sights like that…no matter the animal. My heart can’t take it,
Awful things happen and as hard as it is not to be angry I try to focus on love, peace and compassion. Violence towards any living thing but especially the innocent animals is my Achilles heel. Yes, let’s focus on peace and love always, all ways.
