Paws Rewind Podcast with Angie Bailey and Guest Alana Grelyak

Lovely Readers,

I wanted to let you know that Alana has been featured on a new Podcast dreamed up by the always funny Angie Bailey, author of “Texts From Mittens” and fellow blogger. The show covers all kinds of 80s topics interwoven with cat information and presents a side of “cat people” you don’t normally get to see. In this week’s episode, Angie invited Alana to talk about the Golden Girls, Rick Springfield, and The Cure. Now, I have listened to the episode myself eight times thus far and have transcribed the entire thing for my thesis work on Alana, and although I consider myself the pre-eminent Alana scholar, there were a few things I didn’t know about her that happened before my time. Of course, I know them now, but I think it’s worth a listen!

Alana chose this picture of me and her for use with the episode. She loves me. It’s called “Pinkle and Pajamas.”

Additionally, I have collected some information about Ms. Angie Bailey to use in my bibliography and footnotes that I can share with you. See below:

Pinkle:  Tell me about you.

Angie: My background is in public speaking and some theatre. Since I’ve spent the last several years almost exclusively writing, I missed that part of what I love to do. The Paws Rewind: Gen X + Cats gives me an outlet for something besides writing (although I still get to write content), and combines two of my favorite subjects: 70s and 80s pop culture and cats! I also love talking to fellow cat lovers about subjects that aren’t cat related. I know that, in general, people relate those of us who work professionally in the online cat world — or are major feline fanciers — with only CATS. There’s so much more to us, so it’s fun to cover other subjects.

Pinkle: I certainly hope you haven’t convinced Alana to spend less time with me since I’m a cat. I like to keep her focus on me at all times. We’ll deal with that later. Now, when did you start the podcast?

Angie: June, 2018

Pinkle: Ah, so it’s quite new. And will there be a sequel to Texts from Mittens?

Angie: Yes! I just signed a contract last week and it will hopefully be available late summer/early fall of 2019.

Pinkle: Very good. I shall require a copy for my bibliography. Are there any other projects you want me to share with our audience?

Angie: Not yet — but I’m working on a fun project that I hope to launch in the coming weeks.

Pinkle: Ah, mystery.

There you have it, readers! Please listen to the episode at this link right here and share it if you know anyone that loves the 80s or Alana or cats or Angie.

Best Regards,

Pinkle.

PS. There’s a surprise announcement from Alana regarding some writing she’s been doing!

The Groomer Next Door Podcast And CATastrophes Donation to Kitty Bungalow

Good day, Everyone!

Pinkle

Pinkle reporting live from Alana.

It is me, Pinkle. I am here to let you know that my favorite person in the whole world (Alana – if you didn’t already know) was featured on The Groomer Next Door podcast!  She talked about herself, and the web series, and her career, and our generous project that is donating 20% of all YouTube proceeds from January 1, 2018 through June 30th, 2018 to Kitty Bungalow Charm School for Wayward Cats in Los Angeles.  That’s right, the more you watch Alana (and me, as the Purrminator), the more the kittens earn. I mean, I know I play the shows on repeat all day long while I’m at home doing my thesis research on Alana. I find that it stimulates my Alana research skills. I challenge you to do the same. Well, I mean, watch the videos, but please don’t steal my thesis topic. It’s my life’s work. Anyway, did you know that three millions of the five million views on  “My Cat Charges Me For Toilet Paper” are from me? True.

Anyway, here are the de-tails of the podcast, c/o Chris Green, the Groomer Himself:

EPISODE 218

An all new episode of The Groomer Next Door Podcast is available with our guest Alana Grelyak. Alana is multi talented and has a great YouTube show called CATastrophes. Alana will be donating 20% of any YouTube proceeds to Kitty Bungalow-Charm School for Wayward Cats. If Netflix is looking for a new show to Green Light it’s definitely this one.

or YouTube!

***

You have your choice of iTunes or Google Play or YouTube. So fancy!

Did you notice that call out to Netflix? Imagine a full-length Purrminator show. You guys, I want that. For Alana, of course (but also a bit for me because I love that leather jacket.)

Enjoy the show!

Best Regards,

Pinkle, B.A. M.A. (Bachelor of Alana, Master of Alana)

P.S. Check out the cool little animation below created by Mr. Green himself.

Exile: Day 21

I’m still here. Now I’ve found this:

crepesantenna

Me with the strange “Radio Shack” device. Why not Radio House? Or Radio Mansion? Underachievers, I’m guessing.

It seems to be some sort of strange device with which I might contact aliens or perform drain cleaning. It also has a knob on the front, and yet I can’t seem to change the station. It’s just stuck on this picture of MomFOD from like 2001. Perhaps it’s a broken digital picture frame? Or a portal into the past? I’m willing to believe anything, at this point. This place remains impervious to logical thought.

I have only one haiku for you today:

Home Home Home Home Home.

Home Home Home Home Home Home Home.

Home Home Home Home. Please.

.I sure hope I don’t get home and find out that they’ve replaced us with newer model kittens. Hah. Doubtful. Right?

Love,

Crepes.

PS. Check out MomFOD discussing living with me, a TRIPAWD, on this neat podcast from Tripawds! They’re a really cool community for people living with three-legged animals, like moi. You can visit them here. I give them a big STUMPS UP! Enjoy!
