#CATbaret, the Celebrity Spectacle of the Year!

You guys!

Now,  I believe you’ve heard me say in the past that Kitty Bungalow Charm School for Wayward Cats is having a CATbaret celebrity cat fundraiser. Well, they’re doing it again! It’s time for:

CATbaret 2015! :::Cue the dancers:::

I’m sorry. I’ve just been informed that the dancers are NOT showing up for this blog post. However, they WILL be showing up for the show on August 1st at the Avalon Theater in Hollywood!

And who, WHO is going to be there? Why, there will be Fred Willard, Wendi Clendon-Covey, Elaine Hendrix, Mo Collins, Billy Boys, Elisabeth Harnois, Autumn Resser, Keith David, Jon Huertas, and the So You Think You Can Dance dancers (who I thought were going to be dancing in this blog post, but whatever.)

And you know who else will be there? MomFOD. That’s right! MomFOD! She’s going to be in attendance and you’ll even be seeing her on the big screen in CATastrophes. But wait, there’s more! A few years ago, MomFOD composed the piece for Nora the Piano Cat and five-piece jazz band called “Call Me Charm Cat.” It’s being repeated due to popular demand! MomFOD is also working a bit on the back end here, donating her time as the blogger coordinator to help spread the word about the event. Therefore, she’s bowing out of the giveaways for the tickets and gift bag, but if you are interested in entering a Rafflecopter giveaway to win a pair of tickets to the event and VIP afterparty, leave a comment and MomFOD will tell you where to look to enter the giveaway! (hint: other blogs)

If you don’t know about Kitty Bungalow Charm School for Wayward Cats, then you’re missing out, because they are an awesome LA rescue that’s helping to provide TNR services for feral cats in LA while rescuing and socializing feral kittens and then placing them in forever homes. KB is funded entirely by donations and volunteer support, so we need all decks on hand for this event! Or is that hands on deck? Well, that last one sounds a little risque so we’ll go with the former. Anyway, buy tickets here! catbaretAP2

And if you can’t go? You can always buy a ticket to donate back to the rescue OR just help spread the word with a tweet or share. Why? Because kittens.

PS. Don’t forget to vote for Cat Behavior Finally Explained! Because you love me.

Mice Bucket Challenge

You guys!

So the FODs got challenged to the Mice Bucket Challenge by fans on YouTube. They decided to choose Kitty Bungalow Charm School for Wayward Cats! Why? Because:

  • They’re awesome
  • They have a fantastic model for socializing and saving feral kittens
  • The headmistress is pretty cool
  • They’re saving kittens!

So, here’s their video. I was already tired for the day, so I volunteered one of the foster kittens to get dumped on. Unfortunately for  Alana and Kris, she had other plans.

They decided not to call out anyone by name. Instead, they’ve called out everyone! Do you have a Mice Bucket Challenge video? Post it to the CATastrophes Facebook page and let us all see! And then make a donation to your favorite rescue, or to Kitty Bungalow, because after what that kitten did, the FODs might need a little help counting all those mice.

Bachelor of the Week: Sirius!

You guys, I have a sweet little bachelor this week who is very Sirius about finding a good home. Now, we don’t have many photos of him, but let me paint you a picture with my words. Eh hem…

One evening, a tiny star fell from the sky. Downward and downward he plummeted, stopped only by the hard, unyielding ground. It must have been too much for the little star and it damaged his eyes, leaving him blind in one with pain in the other. He had fallen to the front door of a pet shop, the owner of which decided that the dear little kitten should have his life prematurely ended because he was deemed unfit for sale. But wait! In stepped some of the most courageous people known to man: Volunteers! And not just volunteers, but volunteers for Kitty Bungalow Charm School for Wayward Cats, who specialize in gathering up unruly kittens and finding them new lives.

Dear little Sirius, whilst still amongst the stars.

Dear little Sirius, whilst still amongst the stars.

These volunteers brought the little star, now named Sirius, in for an examination to find out that he was, indeed, a happy, healthy little kitty, save for his damaged eyes. One of those eyes is causing him quite a bit of pain, and in order to free Sirius from the constraints of his injuries, they shall perform surgery to remove the painful eye, the eye that sees only shadows and no more, and give him a life free of hurt.

Kitty Bungalow reports that darling Sirius, in his star-bestowed wisdom, is considering adopting a seeing eye dog after he is well. He also plans to star in his very own version of “Scent of a Woman,” where he will perform much biscuit making and sniffing and become at star of the screen and stage.

If you would like to contribute to Sirius’ fund and be privy to his post-surgery and adoption info, you may do so here.

If you would like to find out more about Sirius for matters of adoption once he is well, please contact Kitty Bungalow for further information. Darling Sirius will be waiting.

PS. Our last featured Kitty Bungalow Bachelor Evander has been adopted! Hurray! We knew he’d fight his way to the top!
