Bachelor of the Week: Taco!

World, meet Taco Cat.

Taco Cat: looking to the future

Taco Cat: looking to the future

While in name, Taco Cat is the same forwards as he is backwards, in deed, however, Taco is only looking to the future and never back at his past.

Abandoned on the front steps of Tree House in Chicago in 2007, Taco was adopted within a year. After five years in a home, his adopter returned Taco because he was unable to care for him any longer. And so, filled with hope and a bit of salsa, Taco is once again looking for his newest side dish. Can you be the beans and rice to his delicious, loving self? As a note, Taco has FIV, but he’s not too concerned about it. Cats with FIV can live long, healthy, happy lives and Taco is on a mission to prove it.

As for us here, if you remember earlier this week, I talked about my friend Cotton coming to the end of his 13 year battle with FeLV. MomFOD and I decided to sponsor Taco for three months in Cotton’s honor so that he might get a little extra attention. MomFOD paid and I pressed the “send” button on his sponsorship fees. And speaking of cash, remember that Tree House waives all adoption fees on FIV kitties and offers a health package for life. You can visit their website for details.

If you’re looking to add a new member to your family, we recommend Taco. He’s a little spicy and goes great with avocado. And you.

Wondering not about where he was, but about where he will be when you realize how awesome he is.

Bachelor of the Week: Cypher!

You guys!

Today, we have a man of mystery, a man who takes some serious figuring out, a man of darkness, a man of the shadows, a man with heartworm inflammation, a man who lives in Chicago but will go wherever you may roam…

Meet Cypher!

Cypher checking out a very interesting nook.

Cypher loves to investigate. He looks into nooks, crannies, cracks, crevices, and a hole slew of holes. Silent when he needs to be, Cypher also loves to chirp and talk, and he has a fondness for having discussions with birds, though what he says, we cannot know.

This tiny creeper (not in weirdo way but in a lurking way) isn’t digging the shelter environment. He’s a little overstimulated by all the things to look at and would really appreciate a nice, peaceful home. He loves to be petted and cuddled and enjoys people.

Also, seeing as he may need to fight crime at any moment (you never know what’s lurking in those crannies) he takes steroids to buff himself up and to control inflammation caused by heartworms.

If you want to meet Cypher and have him look into your crevices, call Tree House today!

Love,

Crepes.

Thoroughly checking out a rather large cranny.

PS. Check out this week’s new Louie episode! I don’t know why this guy gets his own show. I’m going to have to take this up with the management.

Bachelor of the Week: Gomez! – ADOPTED!

Today, dear readers, I bring you a man of mystery, a man of darkness, and man of playful FIV positivity!

Gomez, man of lots of things you'll have to discover on your own.

Gomez, man of lots of things you’ll have to discover on your own because he’s too mysterious to tell me.

World, meet Gomez. This two year old package of awesome is an active fellow. He loves to run, jump, and play. What I’m saying is that he’d rather act out the Addams Family with you than watch it on TV, know what I mean?

Gomez loves people, romantic runs around your dining room table, and being stared at adoringly. He’s a bit of a rough player, so he’s not really into a home with young children, but older kids are just fine. He gets along ok with other kitties, but he can be a bit of a rough player, so sensitive souls aren’t recommended. He would also do well as an only cat. The possibilities are just endless with Gomez!

If you didn’t catch my drift earlier, Gomez is FIV positive, but he’s not too concerned about it and, as we people are learning more and more, you don’t need to be either. With regular veterinary check ups and a healthy diet, Gomez will lead a long, happy life, just like other kitties.

If you’d like to meet Gomez, check out his page at Cat Guardians in Lombard, IL today!
