Bachelor of the Week: Taco!

World, meet Taco Cat.

Taco Cat: looking to the future

Taco Cat: looking to the future

While in name, Taco Cat is the same forwards as he is backwards, in deed, however, Taco is only looking to the future and never back at his past.

Abandoned on the front steps of Tree House in Chicago in 2007, Taco was adopted within a year. After five years in a home, his adopter returned Taco because he was unable to care for him any longer. And so, filled with hope and a bit of salsa, Taco is once again looking for his newest side dish. Can you be the beans and rice to his delicious, loving self? As a note, Taco has FIV, but he’s not too concerned about it. Cats with FIV can live long, healthy, happy lives and Taco is on a mission to prove it.

As for us here, if you remember earlier this week, I talked about my friend Cotton coming to the end of his 13 year battle with FeLV. MomFOD and I decided to sponsor Taco for three months in Cotton’s honor so that he might get a little extra attention. MomFOD paid and I pressed the “send” button on his sponsorship fees. And speaking of cash, remember that Tree House waives all adoption fees on FIV kitties and offers a health package for life. You can visit their website for details.

If you’re looking to add a new member to your family, we recommend Taco. He’s a little spicy and goes great with avocado. And you.

Wondering not about where he was, but about where he will be when you realize how awesome he is.

Bachelor of the Week: Paddy Cake

Ladies and gentleman! May I present the baker’s man of folkloric fame, the one, the only:

PADDY CAKE!!!!

::insert wild applause here…no seriously. Do it. Hands clapping together is totally his thing.::

He dressed up just for you.

He dressed up just for you.

This little fellow was, once upon a time, living with a family. Unfortunately, that family lost their home and they did the best thing they knew how to do: send their tiny baking star to Save A Pet IL, where they knew he would be cared for without fail, and where they would provide him with all the things he needs to follow his passion: making biscuits.

Paddy Cake, though a bit shy about his talents, will definitely come out to see you if he knows that you’re interested in his biscuits. He also bakes cakes and will do so as fast as he can if he thinks you’re hungry. He’s excellent for birthdays, as well, and will write whatever letter you want on top of your cake. Also, he has FIV, but rest assured, he always wears rubber gloves when handling your cakes.

Paddy Cake works well with other bakers (cats) and  is ready when you are! Come meet him at Save A Pet IL and bring him into your home!

It’s A Black Cat Bonanza!

You guys!

It’s Friday. The 13th. While most people might be fleeing from Jason Voorhees at this point in time, I thought instead that we would celebrate black cats! It’s a black cat bonanza! Except minus the guns and desert wagons! I’ve even painted myself to match for the celebration:

No Crepes were harmed in the making of this Photoshopped photo.

Let’s begin with this film by CATastrophes. We have specially released a film today to celebrate the magic of black cats. It stars Hemingway as Magic Kevin. His people have had some seriously good luck since they’ve adopted him, but the minute they leave him behind to get neutered, their lives go haywire. Check it out and please share!

May I present the WORLD PREMIER of Lucky CATastrophe!

You may have noticed that fabulous black kitty there called Magic Kevin. Well, his real name is Hemingway , he has six toes, and he’s available for adoption from Chicago Cat Rescue. We hope that our film will help him find the home he deserves! Check out CATastrophes on Monday to see a video all about him!

You may also have noticed from Lucky CATastrophe that we filmed at Save A Pet IL in Grayslake, IL. They have LOTS of black kitties. For instance, meet Astrologer. He’s FIV Positive-ly huggable! Save A Pet recommends he be placed with other FIV+ cats or very laid back cats because he can occasionally get a bit out of hand with like-minded kitties and wants to always be dominant. He would also make a great only cat in a house with no kids. He loves walking on a harness and is ready to play!  He has a few allergies, but who doesn’t these days?

He can see into your future...and it includes him, a couch, and a bag of treats.

Astrologer is available to adopt or for permanent foster. You can meet him here!

Next up, we have this fabulous film by Cole and Marmalade called BLACK CATS RULE! Cole is a huge supporter of black cats and a good friend of mine, so I hope you’ll enjoy his video.

And, if you feel like giving a black cat-themed gift to someone you really love, check out this super cool Black Cats Shaker! It’s made by Kate from Hauspanther for The Tiniest Tiger and features 100% organic catnip.

I can smell it from here!

Get one here!

That’s it, everyone! Thank you for coming to our black cat bonanza. I hope that you’ll take part in sharing these cool videos and kitties. Let’s help some black cats find homes!
