Paws Rewind Podcast with Angie Bailey and Guest Alana Grelyak

Lovely Readers,

I wanted to let you know that Alana has been featured on a new Podcast dreamed up by the always funny Angie Bailey, author of “Texts From Mittens” and fellow blogger. The show covers all kinds of 80s topics interwoven with cat information and presents a side of “cat people” you don’t normally get to see. In this week’s episode, Angie invited Alana to talk about the Golden Girls, Rick Springfield, and The Cure. Now, I have listened to the episode myself eight times thus far and have transcribed the entire thing for my thesis work on Alana, and although I consider myself the pre-eminent Alana scholar, there were a few things I didn’t know about her that happened before my time. Of course, I know them now, but I think it’s worth a listen!

Alana chose this picture of me and her for use with the episode. She loves me. It’s called “Pinkle and Pajamas.”

Additionally, I have collected some information about Ms. Angie Bailey to use in my bibliography and footnotes that I can share with you. See below:

Pinkle:  Tell me about you.

Angie: My background is in public speaking and some theatre. Since I’ve spent the last several years almost exclusively writing, I missed that part of what I love to do. The Paws Rewind: Gen X + Cats gives me an outlet for something besides writing (although I still get to write content), and combines two of my favorite subjects: 70s and 80s pop culture and cats! I also love talking to fellow cat lovers about subjects that aren’t cat related. I know that, in general, people relate those of us who work professionally in the online cat world — or are major feline fanciers — with only CATS. There’s so much more to us, so it’s fun to cover other subjects.

Pinkle: I certainly hope you haven’t convinced Alana to spend less time with me since I’m a cat. I like to keep her focus on me at all times. We’ll deal with that later. Now, when did you start the podcast?

Angie: June, 2018

Pinkle: Ah, so it’s quite new. And will there be a sequel to Texts from Mittens?

Angie: Yes! I just signed a contract last week and it will hopefully be available late summer/early fall of 2019.

Pinkle: Very good. I shall require a copy for my bibliography. Are there any other projects you want me to share with our audience?

Angie: Not yet — but I’m working on a fun project that I hope to launch in the coming weeks.

Pinkle: Ah, mystery.

There you have it, readers! Please listen to the episode at this link right here and share it if you know anyone that loves the 80s or Alana or cats or Angie.

Best Regards,

Pinkle.

PS. There’s a surprise announcement from Alana regarding some writing she’s been doing!
