Adoption Champion First Photos: Coda Coda!

If there’s anything I learned at the Internet Cat Video Festival, it was that acting, art, comedy, and words are all overshadowed by a face, even if it is a grumpy one. People identify with faces, and for that reason, we at Catinthefridge.com have paired with photographer Victoria Sprung to bring you our very first photo shoot from Tree House as part of our BlogPaws/Halo/Freekibble.com Adoption Champion project. Please pass these photos around; that’s what they’re for. Share them with anyone and everyone you know to help us prove that beautiful photos help make beautiful relationships through adoption. And let us try to find little Coda Coda a permanent, loving home.

Name: Coda Coda

Occupation: Medical Miracle

Coda Coda at Tree House in Chicago
Coda Coda at Tree House in Chicago – Fun Fact: During this photo, momFOD was under Coda making sure he was safely on the table. He was touching her on the head very gently.

Coda Coda was found abandoned in an apartment with his mother and five litter mates. All of these little fellows were undernourished, but Coda seemed to get the worst of it. With an eye infection and what turned out to be a liver shunt, Coda Coda had to fight very hard to live. Maybe he’s a cheapskate, because it was obvious he didn’t want to waste even one of his 9 lives, and through illness after illness, eye surgery, and multiple medical challenges, Coda Coda stabilized and is ready for a happy life. Due to the severity of his eye infection, Coda had to have his eye removed. The result? A constant cute little wink. His malnutrition left him with stunted growth. The result of that? He’ll be forever the size of a kitten, although he prefers the term “Fun-size.”

Now wandering the first floor of Tree House, Coda Coda has made friends with Whitman, one of the other physically damaged kitties at the shelter. He scurries around the floor looking for trouble, or maybe love. Who can say? Coda will always need to take medication for his condition, so he needs to find someone that is willing to help him with that. He enjoys snuggles, other cats, and sparkly objects. So, who’s ready to take Coda Coda into their home? He’s got his lamb and blankey, his optimistic attitude, and a face no one can forget. I’m pretty sure that means he has the makings of an internet star.

  • Oh Coda Coda…mine and mommy’s heart just melts seeing your precious little body and reading your story. Love always, dearest little spirit.

  • We wish Coda Coda the best in finding a loving home! So often we wish we could take in another, and this is one of those times, but we have 2 more than we are allowed to have, not to mention one kitty who doesn’t like any other felines.

BTW, the worm on the hook really frighten our mom! She has a worm phobia to start with, and out of the corner of her eye she saw a wormy thing moving down her screen. Eek!

    • Thank you! We just didn’t have the same popular appeal as Grumpy cat, I suppose. I mean, he has a cappucino line! But that’s ok. We’re helping homeless animals and we beat shark on a roomba, so we feel pretty good. 🙂 – Crepes.
