Confession Friday: My New Crush from the CatVidFest

You Guys!

I was at the Internet Cat Video Festival this weekend, and it was amazing!!!

First of all, I would like to thank each one of you who voted for Catalogue for the Golden Kitty Award. Out of 7,000 videos, we came in second place, behind only Grumpy Cat, and from what I hear, it was a pretty close vote. We’re so proud of that! And we have all of you to thank!

And now it’s time for my confession. I went into the Animal Planet VIP tent and met Will Braden, the thieving filmmaker of Henri, Le Chat Noir! Can you believe it? I will confess: I have a thing for french cats. And so, I confess that I have a crush on Henri. I was too afraid to ask Will for Henri’s phone number, but maybe I can send him a little letter or something. Do you think he’d like me?

I should also note that Will Braden was really nice. He was very friendly and kind to momFOD and has a very caring heart for animals and wants to help them, too. I think I am now Henri’s biggest fan.

And then, I met Lil Bub!

We’re both special needs cats, although her needs are different than mine. Her person was so very nice, and so very wanting to help special needs animals. He obviously cares very much for Lil Bub and it was really nice to meet him.

As for butter cat, I wasn’t even allowed near him! Not even one stupid lick. And there was no bread! I’m so sick of people talking about bread and butter and not giving me any! Next time someone advertises something about bread and butter, I want my taste test guaranteed in writing.

Other than that, we had a wonderful time. Scott Stulen from Walker Art Center was very welcoming and happy to have us there. Monopoly debuted their new Cat Piece and we got a free Monopoly board game! Jenny from Tree House came with us as our guest and helped spread the word about all the cats they’re helping. More than ten thousand people showed up, although out of all those people, not one person asked momFOD or her co-star Kris Flanagan for their autographs. Someday…

Here are a few more photos of the fair for you to enjoy. Thank you again for your support!

Love,

Crepes.

Internet Cat Video Festival – Here I Come!

Ok, not me, but MomFOD is going to the Internet Cat Video Festival today in Minneapolis! She’s being hosted as a VIP guest there because our film “Catalogue” was nominated for The Golden Kitty! We just discovered we were featured on Buzz Feed last month! And yesterday, we were on NPR and didn’t even know it!

Grumpy cat is going to be there, and so will other cat celebrities! Oh, and they’re going to have a cat made entirely out of butter. BUTTER!!!

Here’s the Walker Art Center’s press release about the event, in case you want to know more. The festival happens Wednesday, August 28, 7 pm, at the Minnesota State Fair Grandstand. Tickets are $10, but you must also purchase admission to the Minnesota State Fair to get in. You can view the schedule and line up of guests here.

We’re a little nervous about The Golden Kitty, because we’re going up against videos with MILLIONS of views, like Grumpy Cat and Cat in a Shark Costume Rides a Roomba, but we want everyone to know that we’re honored to have even been mentioned, regardless of whether or not we win, and we are grateful to each and every one of you who voted for us. Thank you so much!

A full report of the festival will follow upon MomFOD’s return! I’d go too but, well, I hate leaving the house.

Love,

Crepes.

PS. This week – The first photo from our Tree House photo shoot with Victoria Sprung!!! I can’t wait to show you guys!

Also another PS. I mentioned yesterday the FODs were up for some awards in the 48-hour Film Project Chicago. Well, they won: Best Writing, Best Editing, Audience Favorite in Group D and got nominated for Best Costumes, Best Actress, and Best Film.  Hurray!!!

Tuesday Haikusday: The Fish Tank

Today, I look at the fishtank and think about it. Eh hem….

The Jawfish and the clown

The Jawfish and the clown

White fish, ghostly, pale.

You dig a hole and hide there.

Can I come in, please?

.

Salty water flows

Clown fish, tail spot, goby, jaw.

These fish live with me.

.

I’m staring at you

And wondering how I can

Eat you with butter.

What do you think? Do you prefer knowing the topic or guessing the topic? Let me know!

Love,

Crepes.

PS. A shout out to my FODs. Their movie “An Awkward Situation” is being honored at The Best Of screening tonight for the 48 Hour Film Project Chicago. Congrats, FODs! Even though there are no cats in this film, I hope you win an award!
