It’s spring, also known as Kitten Season! Have you ever noticed how many kittens are born at this time of year? The shelters that take them in will need extra supplies to keep up with their needs. Tree House Humane in Chicago, for instance, is throwing a kitten shower on Sunday, May 5th. Guests are invited to meet the new kittens, have a tour of the facilities, play shower games, choose kitten names, and win prizes! In return, they ask that you bring a shower gift to help care for their new additions. It’s like a baby shower, but for kitties!
Please take a moment to consider the needs of your local shelter. They might be having a kitten shower, too! And if they’re not, they could probably use a little help, anyway. Ask them if they have any specific needs, or you can take some ideas from the list below.

What a great idea! The shelter that I volunteer at here, in the UK, is part of a national charity group called Cats Protection. Like most shelters, it depends on public donations so, I will mention this ‘kitten shower’ idea when I go again on Sunday! We havent had many kittens yet, due to our very cold spring, but I’m sure that over the next few week we will be overwhelmed again. Really enjoy your articles Crepes! 🙂
